Michael,

I watch far too many food shows - and definitely have been sucked in by the 'live' reality food competitions. I don't know if they really are representative of what goes on behind the scenes in the kitchen, but they are entertaining.

I guess it's the MTV style of TV (you and I are near the same age) where RealWorld came out and the only redeeming factor in the show was the interaction and conflict. The food shows (Top Chef, etc.) are the same, but they are shot in a kitchen.

I'm not sure what's coming next, but they have had (and still continue to have) a great run season after season. Only time will tell.

-----Off topic----sort of....

I'm the co-host of a food show that's online. Would enjoy it if you'd take a look and perhaps do a compare and contrast of the show with what's on network TV right now. It's called NomX3 and it's a talk show that takes place at restaurants (all different). We've done 44 shows so far and are ramping up for season three as I type this.

Thanks!

I liked this article. As someone in sales, I like that distinction between 'service' and 'hospitality'. Service is what they expect. Hospitality will get them to tell their friends.
